Stats vs. Data

Statistics and Data are not the Same!

Statistics (stats) are already analyzed data (totals, sums, averages, etc) used in reports or studies to back up a claim.  Data are the raw material that enable researchers to produce statistics, and are usually manipulated in statistical software like SPSS or SAS.
