VIU Library's Nanaimo campus has a selection of board and card games available for loan.

The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is a facilitated two-hour interactive workshop that explores the nation-to-nation relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. Blankets arranged on the floor represent land and participants are invited to step into the roles of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples.

At VIU, this workshop is organized through the Office of Indigenous Education & Engagement, which brings in a certified facilitator. These facilitators can request to book the KAIROS blankets and textual materials kits out from the Library for their workshops using this form. Once you've submitted a booking request, the Library will contact you to arrange pick up and drop off times. 

A small number of half-sized lockers are bookable for short-term rental in the Nanaimo campus Library Commons. The VIU Campus Store coordinates longer-term locker rentals.

VIU Library's Nanaimo campus has more than 25 hand tools available for loan.

Equipment from the tool library may be booked and used by VIU students and employees only. Borrowers must sign a waiver each time they check out tools.
