Search Tips in Google Scholar:

1. Select Advanced Search (upper left side of the webapge) to use any limiters, where you can search for specific authors or limite to specific publication years: 
   
2. It is a good tool for citation mining--that is, checking where and how many times a source has been "cited by" elsewhere, or checking linked citations that are cited in a specific source.
