The library's print book collection is located on the 4th floor. To browse the stacks (book shelves) for various topics on birds, go to the Call Number section: QL 600s (e.g. QL 671 - General Ornithology, QL 697 - Behavior, Migration, Ecology, etc.)
Use LibrarySearch (above) to find book/ebook information on birds in the VIU Library Collection. You can combine various keywords to narrow your search. For example, searching with the keyword: bird* will enable you to search for bird or birds. To narrow your search, combine this keyword with others.
Note: Use quotation marks to enclose a phrase of two or more words to enable them to be searched together.
bird* "british columbia"
bird* "vancouver island"
If the VIU Library doesn't have enough books on your topic, then you can request to borrow books from other libraries.
First, you can search the WorldCat catalogue to get the citation information of a book you want to order, then use the VIU InterLibrary Loan System to request the book and have it brought to our library.
