Faculty Work in VIUSpace

This VIUSpace collection includes products of research and creative work by members of the VIU faculty.
VIUSpace is the institutional repository of Vancouver Island University Library. It includes contributed works of scholarship, creative activity, and research by members of the VIU faculty and staff, and selected student works, together with digital special collections that represent the unique character of our region.

Works that are in VIUSpace receive a persistent identifier and description, facilitating linking among other applications, and are indexed by a range of library and other search tools.

Faculty works may include Open Access versions of publications, reports, and other digital artifacts that are appropriate for open publication.
Content items and submission forms related to student works are generally collected by the program according to criteria established by the program, and are delivered to the library by the program.

Contributors to VIUSpace must agree to a Non-Exclusive Distribution License that permits the Library to:
  •  make the work openly accessible, and
  •  copy the work to other formats for management and preservation purposes
The contributor also grants a non- exclusive distribution license to distribute submitted work online, and is encouraged to select a Creative Commons license to support appropriate use.

Contributors may contact Library Technical Services with any questions about submitting by email. Alternately, they may print, complete, and sign a submission form and drop it off at the library service desk or submit via email, addressed to Library Technical Services.
