VIUSpace digitally preserves and showcases selected VIU faculty and student scholarship, together with special collections that represent the unique character of our region.
Works that are in VIUSpace receive a stable url and description, facilitating linking from other applications, and can be discovered through LibrarySearch and via Google Scholar.
Student work may be published in VIUSpace in the Student Work Collection. Content items and submission forms related to student work are generally collected by the program according to criteria established by the program, and delivered to the library by the program.
If your work is not affiliated with the existing collections and you are interested in having it published in VIUSpace, talk to your instructor and have them contact the library!
Contributors to VIUSpace must agree to a Non-Exclusive Distribution License that permits the Library to:
- make the work openly accessible, and
- copy the work to other formats for preservation purposes
The contributor also grants a non- exclusive distribution license to distribute submitted work online.
To this end, contributors need to print, complete, and sign a submission form and drop it off at the library service desk or submit via
email, addressed to Library Technical Services.
