A project by the Hul’q’umi’num’ Language & Culture Collective: "...designed for people who would like to improve their Hul’q’umi’num’ language skills while learning about the language as it goes along with canoe culture."
A collection of recordings that promote learning of the Hul'q'umi'num' language created and produced by a group of musicians, songwriters, Hul'q'umi'num' language advisors, educators, parents, and children. Includes curriculum resources.
Included in the language kit are: four children’s books published by Haahuupayak Society, Ocean Knowledge cards from Ocean Networks Canada, and flash cards developed by Eva Prevost. Using the HP Reveal app developed by Eva Prevost, users can point their mobile device at words or images in the kit to listen to a recording of the words spoken by a fluent Nuu-chah-nulth speaker. Instructions on how to download and access the HP Reveal app from a mobile device are included in the kit.
