If you are using AI text or image generator tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Dall-E, it's important to understand how to cite their content. Before you do, keep in mind: 

• Always check with your instructor to see if AI tools are permitted for your assignment to avoid academic integrity issues 
• If you are planning to use the tools in research, confirm with your supervisor(s) to see if there are additional ethical reviews that need to take place
• Verify the information that AI tools produce, which can be inaccurate, biased or even made up (also known as hallucinated)-- this includes citations
• AI has pulled from others' copyrighted intellectual property without proper attribution raising obvious ethical concerns
